How long does pigeon exclusion last?

There is no honest universal lifespan. Service life depends on the named material and coating, substrate, attachment, UV and weather exposure, corrosion, snow or debris loads, building movement, nearby untreated openings, inspection, cleaning, repairs, and warranty terms. Ask for a product-specific maintenance and replacement plan instead of a permanent-results promise.

What changes service life

Netting, mesh, wire, spikes, screens, fasteners, sealants, and supporting structure fail in different ways. The proposal should connect each component to the actual exposure and manufacturer instructions.

  • product name, material, coating, mesh or opening size, and fastener
  • substrate condition and attachment detail
  • UV, heat, salt, wind, snow, ice, drainage, and debris exposure
  • doors, zippers, access panels, penetrations, edges, and adjacent untreated zones
  • inspection frequency, cleaning, repair responsibility, and replacement trigger

How to compare warranties

Separate a product warranty from installation workmanship and from a promise about bird behavior. Record covered components, treated zones, exclusions, customer duties, response process, remedy, and transfer rules.

Next step

Request the selected product documents, a marked treatment drawing, inspection schedule, and an example completion record. Reject an undefined lifetime claim that is not tied to written coverage and maintenance duties.
